I work as a GIS specialist at Helsinki Region Transport (HSL) (OSM-profile). See our organisation wiki for further information on how and why we work with OSM.

Projects
Here below is a list of OSM-projects (validation tools & data edits) I've been working on that aren't listed under the digitransit validation page. This list is as for now very much under construction.
Validation tools
- POIs
- school tagging
- amenity=school shouldn't be tagged on buildings. This script shows these tagging errors ... https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/XTN
- amenity=school should have a name. This script shows those that don't ... https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/XTO
- hospital tagging
- amenity=hospital shouldn't be tagged on buildings. This script shows these tagging errors ... https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/XTQ
- amenity=hospital should have a name. This script shows those that don't ... https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/XTR
- school tagging
Ongoing project(s)
- Move address information from single address nodes to buildings wherever possible. Find single address node with this script.
Project ideas
- Check with city/municipality websites that all the schools amenity=school can be found in OSM
- Check with city/municipality websites(?) that all the hospitals amenity=hospital can be found in OSM
- Avoid overlapping sport_centres by removing unessecary sports_centres within a sports_centre that can be classified as leisure=fitness_centre or building=sports_hall
- Check the city service maps for ideas for data layers to be manually or automatically checked
- Check for missing names (eg. objects that have name:sv but no name or name:fi or vice versa)
- Develop tools for analysing unconnected stops
- Ensure that there are no gaps between landuse areas ( eg. with this service)
Done projects
- Manually check with city/municipality websites that all the relevant sports centre areas leisure=sports_centre can be found in OSM ♦ 17.11.2020
- Manually check with city/municipality websites or this one that all the relevant "climbing stairs" in the HSL-area can be found in OSM ♦ 17.11.2020 (some need local knowledge - these were raported as map notes)
Tools
Editing both with JOSM and ID. For mobile mapping I'm mainly using Organic maps & StreetComplete. HSL has also been using Mapillary to collect street view images to support OSM edits.
